The Pattern Digest is dedicated to helping you understand and use Object-Oriented Patterns more effectively and efficiently. Here you will find a catalog containing many of the most often used patterns and many lesser known patterns. Each entry is categorized, cross-indexed with related patterns, linked to the published source and, when available, linked to web sites where you can find more information about that particular pattern. You can search the site, discover related sites and information about patterns, find pattern books, and post questions, comments or suggestions in the message forum. And, many more features are coming soon!
What's New on the Patterns Digest
6/25/2002 Finally have the first deployment of a new site content management
framework. The Bookshelf has been completely overhauled. New books added, some books updated.
Every book now has its own page with links to Amazon and Barnes Noble.
The site search now works for book searches (finally!).
This is the first in a series of upgrades to transform this site into a dynamic content
system with user participation features. Many new features are under developement. Keep tuned!
4/10/2002 Update: I got the new site search working and it is
great The FreeFind.com If you need a site search engine, I highly recomend this one.

I hope you like it! Please let me know if you experience any problems (broken links,
browser incompatibility, etc.) or have a suggestion or comment.
The top frame has been removed and replaced by a completely redesigned header,
using SSI for dynamic inclusion.
All of pages on this site have been edited to clean-up the nasty HTML
code created by Microsoft Word. I have switched to using HTML-Kit a very nice
freeware too for source editing.
Coming Soon to the Patterns Digest
Many additional enhancements and additions are coming to this site.
Many more patterns will be added soon. Also articles, publications and a greatly expanded

The list of patterns in the left-side frame will soon be replaced with expandable folders
to allow quicker, easier navigation of the digest.
Many new sections will be added to this site to help you find consulting or training help, learn more about patterns, find pattern supporting tools, a FAQ and much more.
Learning About Patterns
If you are new to Object-Oriented Patterns, I suggest you try the following resources:
Cetus Links: This is probably the most definitive list of web sites containing information or products about any Object-Oriented topic. Pattern-related topics can be found in the Patterns section of Architecture Design
Hillside Patterns Home Page: This group is dedicated towards improving human communication about computers by encouraging people to codify common programming and design practice. Their pattern web pages form the official home page for all things concerning patterns in computer software. I highly recommend you bookmark this page and return often!
Brad Appletons Patterns in a Nutshell is one of the best overviews of patterns and the pattern community around. If you are not sure what this is all about, read these pages first.
